The Story Behind the Flower Curl
My hair journey was very much inspired by my parents. My beautiful mother was on a mission to strengthen my very thin hair by cutting it bob up until the age of six. When I started to realise how short my hair was, I asked if I could grow my hair longer and my father encouraged me to do so until my locks reached my thighs! Every time I was due a trim, my mother would measure and trim my hair and then my dad and I would check to see how much my mum cut off!
At the age of 17, I decided to enter a competition and I longed for big, voluminous curls so I booked an appointment at the hairdresser and asked to have my hair curled for the event. The hairdresser prepared my hair and set a bunch of rollers in, on the morning of the event and she advised me not to remove them up until the evening. I was so excited to see the hair curling results but I knew I had to wait until it was time for me to go up on stage as I already knew how much my hair struggles to hold any curls.
Well, as you can see from the picture, my hair doesn’t look like I’ve had any rollers in that day, (ten hours plus to be exact). Although, I did get a couple of flicks here and there which I was not too impressed about.
This particular picture and how much time I spent at the hairdresser and how uncomfortable I was throughout the whole day, really stuck with me and from then on, I was on a mission to find a hair curler that could curl my hair beautifully.
Nine years later, and I still haven’t found a hair curler that could create beautiful long lasting curls. I tried curling tongs and other heated hair curlers, but the curls only lasted five minutes and by the time I stepped out of the house my hair was completely straight again, not to mention all the split ends that I had after just one use. I also used a variety of different rollers and other heatless hair curlers but I either found them difficult to use, time consuming, super uncomfortable or my hair got tangled in the products which also ended up damaging my locks!
At about 8:30am on Tuesday 10th November 2015, I was on my way to my office job and I had a light bulb moment for a new heatless hair curler. As soon as I got to my desk, I grabbed a piece of paper, drew what I had in mind and put it in my handbag. I could not wait to get back home to make my very first prototype.
I got so excited and I just knew in my heart that my idea was going to work and I spent months making & testing different prototypes and refining the idea in my good old shed.
I wanted to create a hair curler that met my very long list of standards and that I simply could not find on the market and in any other hair curling products. I found many of the other hair curling products outdated, bulky and uncomfortable. I realised that there was an opportunity for a new heatless hair curler that many women will absolutely love and would want to try.

Do I use the Flower Curl on wet, dry or damp hair?"You should use the hair curler on completely dry hair. Tips: 1. Apply hair oil before you wrap the hair in the Flower Curl to keep your strands nicely moisturised and to ensure that your hair slides off the Flower Curl with ease the next morning 2. Spritz a bit of water when curling your hair to encourage longer lasting curls and for better hair handling when using the Flower Curl. Can I add hair oil before wrapping my hair in the Flower Curl?Yes you should always apply hair oil before the wrapping process, for two simple reasons: 1. A good quality hair oil will keep your strands nicely moisturised as it forms a protective layer around each cuticle. Some hair oils can even penetrate and repair the hair from within, so you should never skip this part if you're looking to improve the condition of your hair. 2. Silky hair is easier to manage. When the hair cuticle is smooth and moisturised, you'll find that your hair will simply slide off the Flower Curl with ease.

Is the Flower Curl uncomfortable to sleep in?You’d be glad to know that the Flower Curl is comfortable enough to use and sleep in every single night if you wanted to! The Flower Curl has been designed to protect your hair whilst you sleep due to the soft material used and is positioned in such a way that will not interrupt your beauty sleep.

How long will it take me to wrap my hair in the Flower Curl?The Flower Curl gives you the option to choose the amount of curls you'd like to wake up to in the morning and it is super easy and quick to use. If you would like to wake up with loose curls in the morning, it should take you less than 5 minutes to set the hair curler in. (When you become a Flower Curl Pro, it might only take you a couple of minutes tops!). For tighter curls, you may spend about 10 minutes or less. This is a whole lot quicker than any other heatless hair curling products, techqniues and heated hair curling devices! > You might of course take a little longer at first. The Flower Curl uses a brand new and patented hair curling techninque that you will be able to master in no time! :)

How long does my hair need to be, to be able to use the Flower Curl?"You can use the Flower Curl if you have shoulder to medium length hair. If your hair is above your shoulders, you might not be able to use the Flower Curl. It has been tried and tested on shoulder length hair (past the shoulders) and the results are beautiful! I have a lot of layers! Can I still curl my hair with the Flower Curl?Yes, you can! Just make sure you tuck in any short layers, don’t leave these out! Take a look at our hair video tutorials for clarification.

How long do I need to leave the Flower Curl in my hair?The Flower Curl has been designed to use overnight. For best results, it is recommended to use the Flower Curl for as long as possible to ensure long lasting hair curling results – approximately 7 – 9 hours overnight, whilst having your very important beauty sleep! That said, the Flower Curl can be left in for a few hours and you can still achieve some amazing curls! If you're looking to speed up the process even more, you may want to use a hairdryer.

At what point can I add hair spray?Use hairspray only after you have completely removed the Flower Curl from your hair. Please note: Do not use hair spray whilst your hair is still wrapped in the Flower Curl as this might make the hair sticky against the material and can make the unravelling process a little tricky. Make sure you check out the video tutorial on how to get your curls to last all day, where I show you how and when you should use hair spray for longer lasting curls.

Is it difficult to remove the Flower Curl in the morning?No - it is super easy, quick, hassle free and exciting! It will only take you a few seconds. Tips: 1. Apply hair oil before you wrap the hair in the Flower Curl to keep your strands nicely moisturised and to ensure that your hair slides off the Flower Curl with ease. 2. Do not use hair spray on the same day you're unravelling your hair from the Flower Curl as this might make the hair sticky and can make the unravelling process a little tricky. 3. Use hairspray only after you have removed the Flower Curl away from your hair.

Will the Flower Curl work on wigs and hair extensions?The hair curler will work on real hair wigs and real hair extensions. The Flower Curl has not been tested on synthetic hair and cannot advise on this.
